Scribus is available for many operatings systems and comes in basically two flavors, stable and development. For almost all production work, we recommend that you use the stable version. In our development version lots of things may be regularly changing as we fix issues and introduce new features.
Download Latest Version (104.95 MB) Scribus for Mac is a free DTP app, which gives you a useful variety of tools with which you can complete all manner of various projects. It comes packed with preloaded templates or you can create your own document from scratch. To install using the Package Installer, go to the Scribus Download page. Click on the link for 'Mac OS X package installer (Intel only, Leopard (10.5) or higher)' and follow the instructions to download the file. You will probably be re-directed to another web site where the file is kept. This is perfectly normal.
Currently the stable branch is the 1.4.x series. Download links for 1.4.x installers are available, click the button below. Use this branch if you want to work with a thoroughly tested software without any unpleasant surprises.
Scribus Source. The source for Scribus is available from our Subversion repository at svn://scribus.net. “trunk” is the primary development branch. Note: there are other replicas of this repository (eg on github) however this is the official, supported code repository.
The development branch is currently 1.5.x. It’s mainly being released for people who want to help us testing and improving Scribus, so the next stable series (1.6.x) will work well. However, as of version 1.5.1, we consider the development branch reasonably stable, so it can be used for serious work by users who accept that not all Scribus User Manual
